1. Agreement to these Terms
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Travllr mobile application, the website at travllr.app, and related features and services (together, the “Service”). Travllr is operated by Sriram Govindan, India (“Travllr”, “we”, “us” or “our”).
By downloading, installing, accessing or using Travllr, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by the Travllr Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. What Travllr does
Travllr is a travel-recording and travel-management application designed to help individuals understand and organise their travel activity. Depending on the version of the Service, Travllr may allow you to:
- record countries, regions and destinations visited;
- maintain a travel history and timeline;
- calculate days spent in different countries or jurisdictions;
- monitor residency-related day counts;
- monitor Schengen or similar stay thresholds;
- organise trips and travel records;
- maintain visa and passport information;
- store Visa Vault and travel-document information locally on your device;
- receive reminders relating to travel documents or thresholds;
- scan or process selected travel documents;
- reconstruct historical travel activity; and
- generate informational travel summaries.
Features may change over time and may differ by operating system, device, country or application version.
3. Travllr is not professional advice
Travllr is a record-keeping, calculation and organisational tool. Travllr is not a law firm, immigration adviser, tax adviser, accountant, financial adviser, government authority, embassy, consulate, visa-processing service or professional residency or citizenship adviser.
Nothing in Travllr constitutes legal, immigration, tax, accounting, financial, visa, residency, citizenship or other professional advice.
Travllr does not determine your legal residence, tax residence, domicile, immigration status, visa eligibility, citizenship status or right to enter or remain in a jurisdiction.
4. Day counts and travel thresholds
Travllr may calculate or display days spent in a country, rolling travel periods, residency thresholds, Schengen 90/180 information, visa-related stay periods, physical-presence periods or similar travel thresholds.
These calculations are intended to assist you and are not official or legally binding determinations. Different jurisdictions may use different definitions of a “day”, treat arrival and departure days differently, apply different tax-year periods, create exceptions for particular individuals, distinguish between residence and domicile, or change their laws and administrative guidance.
You are responsible for confirming the rules that apply to your own circumstances with official sources or appropriately qualified professional advisers.
5. Accuracy of travel records
Travllr attempts to help you maintain accurate records, but it cannot guarantee that every journey, location, country visit, border crossing or day will be recorded correctly.
Accuracy may be affected by factors including:
- location permissions being unavailable or restricted;
- inaccurate GPS or network-derived location;
- background-location restrictions;
- device battery-saving settings;
- operating-system limitations;
- loss of network connectivity;
- device time or timezone settings;
- manually entered information;
- missed or incomplete journeys;
- travel through border regions;
- changes in applicable law or official guidance; and
- technical errors or interruptions.
You should periodically review your travel history and correct inaccurate or missing information.
6. No reliance on alerts or notifications
Travllr may provide reminders or notifications relating to travel thresholds, visa expiry, passport expiry, journeys or other dates. These are convenience features only.
You must not rely on a Travllr alert as your sole method of complying with a legal, visa, tax, residency, immigration or travel deadline. Notifications can be delayed or fail because of device settings, network conditions, operating-system restrictions, disabled permissions or other technical circumstances.
7. Eligibility
You must be legally capable of agreeing to these Terms. Where applicable law does not permit you to enter into a binding agreement independently, you may use Travllr only with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian where required.
Travllr is intended primarily for individuals managing their own travel information and must not be used to unlawfully monitor another person.
8. Your account
Certain Travllr features may require an account. You agree to provide reasonably accurate information, protect access to your account and device, and notify us through Travllr Support if you reasonably believe your account has been compromised.
You are responsible for activity occurring through your account except to the extent applicable law provides otherwise.
9. Authentication and Firebase
Travllr uses Google Firebase as part of its technical infrastructure. Depending on the feature, Firebase may support authentication, account management, backend services, database functionality, application security and technical reliability.
Use of Firebase does not mean that every category of information in Travllr is stored in Firebase. In particular, the device-only travel-document information described below is not uploaded to Firebase as part of normal Visa Vault document storage.
10. Location services
Some Travllr functionality may require access to your device location. Depending on your permissions, location may be used to identify countries you visit, help create travel records, determine country changes, calculate time spent in different jurisdictions and support day-count functionality.
Your operating system controls location permissions. You may change or revoke location access through your device settings, but doing so may make certain Travllr features inaccurate or unavailable.
Device-generated location is not guaranteed to be accurate.
11. Visa Vault and travel documents
Travllr may allow you to maintain information relating to passports, visas, residence permits, boarding passes, travel tickets and similar documents.
Visa Vault documents and travel-document images are stored locally on your device. Travllr does not upload copies of those documents to Firebase or to a Travllr-operated server as part of normal Visa Vault functionality.
You are responsible for deciding what information you store in Travllr and for maintaining appropriate backups of any document you are legally or practically required to retain.
12. Document recognition
Travllr may use OCR, image recognition, barcode reading or similar functionality to extract information from a travel document you select. Automated processing may make mistakes.
You are responsible for reviewing and correcting extracted information before relying on it, including visa dates, passport expiry dates, flight details, document numbers or other detected information.
13. Device backups
Although Travllr may keep certain information only on your device, Apple, Google or another device or operating-system provider may independently include application data in a device backup according to your settings. Such backups are controlled by you and the relevant provider and are governed by that provider’s terms and privacy practices.
14. User Content
“User Content” means information you enter, create or provide through Travllr, including travel records, journey information, notes, selected images and related information.
You retain ownership of your User Content. Where processing through Travllr’s backend is necessary to provide a feature, you grant Travllr a limited, non-exclusive licence to process, transmit, store and reproduce that information solely to the extent reasonably necessary to operate and secure the Service.
You represent that you have the right to provide any User Content you submit and that doing so does not violate another person’s rights.
15. Your responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- ensuring information you enter is reasonably accurate;
- reviewing and correcting generated travel records;
- reviewing automatic calculations and document extraction;
- keeping your device and account secure;
- checking official visa, tax, residency and immigration requirements;
- obtaining professional advice where appropriate;
- maintaining backups of important documents; and
- independently verifying information before making a material decision based on it.
16. Acceptable use
You may use Travllr only for lawful purposes. You must not:
- access another person’s account without authorisation;
- use Travllr to unlawfully track or monitor another person;
- interfere with or disrupt the Service;
- circumvent authentication, security or access controls;
- probe, scan or test systems without authorisation;
- introduce malware or malicious code;
- use automated systems to abuse or overload the Service;
- impersonate another person;
- intentionally submit fraudulent or misleading information;
- infringe another person’s intellectual-property or privacy rights; or
- use the Service to facilitate unlawful conduct.
We may restrict access where reasonably necessary to protect Travllr, its users or its infrastructure.
17. No advertising, sale or behavioural tracking
Travllr does not operate an advertising-supported business model. Travllr does not display third-party behavioural advertisements, does not sell personal information and does not track users across unrelated apps or websites for behavioural advertising.
Travllr’s optional location functionality exists to provide travel-recording features and is not advertising tracking.
18. Intellectual property
Travllr and its software, interfaces, design, trademarks, logos, graphics, documentation, original content, algorithms and functionality are owned by Sriram Govindan or applicable licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.
Subject to these Terms, you receive a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable right to use Travllr for its intended purpose. No ownership rights in Travllr are transferred to you.
19. Feedback
If you voluntarily provide suggestions, ideas or feedback about Travllr, you permit us to use that feedback to improve or develop the Service without an obligation to compensate you. This does not transfer ownership of your personal information or User Content.
20. Third-party services
Travllr may rely on third-party services for authentication, Firebase infrastructure, application distribution, notifications, operating-system functionality, location services and other technical infrastructure.
We cannot guarantee the availability of third-party services or control their independent practices. Your use of a third-party service may also be governed by that provider’s terms and privacy policy.
21. Apple App Store and Google Play
If you obtain Travllr through the Apple App Store, Google Play or another marketplace, your use of Travllr may also be subject to that marketplace provider’s terms. Marketplace providers are not responsible for operating Travllr except to the extent required by their own terms or applicable law.
22. Updates and changes to the Service
Travllr may change over time. We may add, change or remove features, release updates, alter technical requirements, improve security, discontinue unsupported functionality or make changes required for legal or operational reasons.
We do not guarantee that every feature will remain available indefinitely. Certain updates may be necessary for security, compatibility or continued operation.
23. Availability
We aim to keep Travllr reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability. The Service may be temporarily unavailable because of maintenance, upgrades, infrastructure failures, third-party failures, network disruption, security incidents or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
24. Privacy
Our handling of personal information is described in the Travllr Privacy Policy, which forms part of your relationship with Travllr and should be read together with these Terms.
25. Account deletion
You may stop using Travllr at any time. Where account-deletion functionality is available, you may use it to request deletion of your account. You may also submit an account-deletion request through Travllr Support.
Deletion may be subject to limited legal, security, fraud-prevention and technically necessary backup-retention requirements. Locally stored data on your device may need to be removed separately by you.
26. Suspension or termination
We may suspend or terminate access where reasonably necessary, including where you materially violate these Terms, your activity creates a security risk, your use appears unlawful, you attempt to compromise the Service, continued access may harm another user, or the Service is discontinued.
Where reasonably practicable, we will provide notice unless security, legal or operational circumstances prevent us from doing so.
27. Disclaimer of warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Travllr is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.
We do not guarantee that every travel event will be detected, every location will be accurate, every day count or threshold will be correct, every document will be recognised correctly, notifications will always be delivered, data will never be lost, or the Service will always be available.
Nothing in these Terms excludes a warranty, consumer right or other protection that cannot lawfully be excluded.
28. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Sriram Govindan and Travllr will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, punitive or consequential loss arising from use of or inability to use the Service.
This includes, where legally permitted, loss arising from incorrect day counts, missing travel records, missed immigration or visa deadlines, visa overstays or refusals, tax assessments or penalties, residency determinations, immigration decisions, missed notifications, inaccurate location information, loss of local device data, loss of travel documents, travel disruption, or reliance on information generated by Travllr.
You remain responsible for independently confirming information that may materially affect your legal, tax, visa, immigration or residency position.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where such exclusion or limitation is prohibited by law.
29. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to indemnify Sriram Govindan and Travllr against third-party claims resulting directly from your unlawful use of Travllr, intentional misuse of the Service, User Content that infringes another person’s rights, or your material breach of these Terms.
This section applies only to the extent permitted under applicable consumer and other mandatory law.
30. Compliance with law
You are responsible for complying with laws applicable to your use of Travllr and to your travel. You must not use or export the Service in violation of applicable sanctions, export-control or trade laws.
31. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of Travllr will be subject to the jurisdiction of a court of competent jurisdiction in India, except where mandatory consumer-protection law gives you a right to bring proceedings elsewhere.
Nothing in these Terms limits any mandatory right available to you under applicable law.
32. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms where reasonably necessary to reflect changes to Travllr, new functionality, security requirements, legal or regulatory requirements, or operational changes.
The “Last Updated” date at the top identifies the latest revision. Where required by law or where a change materially affects your rights, we will provide appropriate additional notice.
33. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect. The affected provision will be interpreted or modified only to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable where permitted by law.
34. No waiver
If we do not immediately enforce a provision of these Terms, that does not waive our right to enforce it later.
35. Assignment
You may not transfer your rights under these Terms without our prior written consent. Travllr may transfer its rights and obligations in connection with a genuine restructuring, acquisition, sale, transfer of the Service or similar transaction, subject to applicable law.
36. Entire agreement
These Terms and the Travllr Privacy Policy constitute the agreement governing your use of Travllr, except where additional terms expressly apply to a particular feature.
