1. About this Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Travllr handles personal information when you use the Travllr mobile application, the website at travllr.app, and related services (together, the “Service”). Travllr is operated by Sriram Govindan, India (“Travllr”, “we”, “us” or “our”).
Travllr is designed around a simple principle: information about where you travel should be used to provide the travel functionality you request, not to advertise to you or build a commercial profile about you.
Travllr does not display third-party ads, does not sell personal information, and does not track users across unrelated apps or websites for behavioural advertising.
2. Who is responsible for your information
For purposes of applicable data-protection law, the operator responsible for determining how personal information processed through Travllr is used is:
Sriram Govindan
India
Privacy questions, requests, account-deletion requests or grievances can be submitted through Travllr Support.
3. Information we may process
The information Travllr processes depends on the features you use, the information you choose to provide, and the permissions you grant on your device.
4. Account and authentication information
When you create or use a Travllr account, we may process information such as:
- your name;
- email address;
- authentication identifier;
- Travllr account identifier; and
- limited information supplied by a supported sign-in provider, where you choose to use one.
If you use Apple, Google or another supported identity provider, Travllr receives only the information made available to it in accordance with your selections and the provider’s policies.
5. Travel information
Travllr may process travel information that you enter, create or generate through the Service, including:
- countries and regions visited;
- arrival and departure dates;
- trip periods and journey records;
- travel history and timelines;
- home-country and residence information;
- day counts and rolling-period calculations;
- Schengen-related calculations;
- residency-related counters;
- itinerary information and travel notes; and
- other travel information needed to provide features you choose to use.
This information is processed to provide Travllr’s travel-recording, calculation and organisational functionality. It is not used for advertising.
6. Location information
If you grant location permission, Travllr may process location information needed to provide location-dependent travel functionality. Depending on the permissions available on your device, this may include precise or approximate location, location timestamps, country or region derived from a location, and location-derived travel events.
Location information may be used to:
- identify countries or regions you visit;
- help create and maintain travel-history records;
- recognise country changes;
- calculate time spent in different jurisdictions;
- support residency, visa or Schengen-related day counts; and
- provide other travel features that depend on location.
Location access is controlled by your operating system. You can change or revoke permission at any time through your device settings. Restricting location permissions may reduce the accuracy or availability of some Travllr features.
7. Location is not advertising tracking
Travllr’s optional use of device location is a product feature used to help maintain your travel records. Travllr does not use your location to serve advertisements, create advertising audiences, sell information to advertisers or data brokers, or track you across unrelated applications and websites.
8. Visa Vault, passport and travel documents
Travllr may allow you to maintain travel-document information such as visa records, passports, residence permits, boarding passes, travel tickets, validity dates and expiry dates.
Visa Vault documents and travel-document images are stored locally on your device. Travllr does not upload copies of those documents to Firebase or to a Travllr-operated server as part of normal Visa Vault functionality.
Because these documents can contain sensitive identifying information, you should protect your device with an appropriate passcode or biometric lock and store only documents you need.
9. Document scanning and extracted information
Where Travllr offers document scanning, optical character recognition (“OCR”), barcode reading or similar functionality, it may process a document you deliberately select in order to identify information such as travel dates, airports, flight details, visa dates or expiry dates.
Automated extraction can be inaccurate. You should always review extracted information before relying on it. Travllr does not use document content for advertising, marketing or behavioural profiling.
10. Camera, photos and files
If a feature requires it and you grant the relevant permission, Travllr may access your camera, a photograph you select, or a file you intentionally provide. Access is used to perform the action you requested, such as adding or scanning a travel document.
Travllr does not require unrestricted access to your personal photo library merely because you use the application. The permissions available to Travllr are controlled by your device operating system.
11. Device-only data and device backups
Information stored locally by Travllr remains on your device unless a feature explicitly requires backend processing. Your device manufacturer or operating-system provider may independently include application data in device backups according to your settings. For example, Apple or Google may provide device-backup functionality that is governed by their own terms and privacy practices.
Travllr does not control backups created independently by your device or operating-system provider.
12. Firebase
Travllr uses Google Firebase as part of its technical infrastructure. Depending on the feature, Firebase may support functions such as account authentication, backend application services, database functionality, security and technical reliability.
Firebase may process account or technical information as necessary to provide those services. Travllr does not use Firebase to store Visa Vault document images or passport/visa document images as part of the normal device-only document-storage functionality described above.
Travllr does not use Firebase data for behavioural advertising, and does not provide your travel information to Google for independent advertising purposes.
13. Device, security and diagnostic information
Travllr may process limited technical information needed to operate, secure and troubleshoot the Service. Depending on the device and technical environment, this may include application version, device type, operating-system version, language or locale, timestamps, error information, crash or diagnostic information, network information, and IP address where technically necessary.
This information may be used to maintain reliability, resolve errors, secure the Service, prevent abuse and maintain compatibility. It is not used to create an advertising profile.
14. Support communications
If you contact Travllr Support, we may process information you voluntarily provide, such as your name, email address, message, screenshots, attachments and technical details relevant to your request. We use this information to respond to and resolve your support request.
Please avoid sending passport copies, visa copies or other sensitive identity documents through support unless they are genuinely necessary to resolve your request.
15. How we use personal information
Travllr may process personal information to:
- create and maintain your account;
- authenticate access to the Service;
- record journeys and maintain travel history;
- calculate travel days and relevant thresholds;
- provide location-dependent travel functionality;
- organise trip and visa-related information;
- provide reminders and notifications you enable;
- respond to support requests;
- protect accounts and prevent abuse;
- diagnose bugs, crashes and technical failures;
- maintain compatibility and reliability; and
- comply with applicable legal obligations.
16. Notifications
If you grant notification permission, Travllr may send notifications relating to features such as visa or passport expiry, travel thresholds, day counts, journeys, account security or important Service information.
You may control notification permissions through your device settings. Notifications are a convenience feature and should not be relied upon as the sole method of monitoring a legal, visa, tax, residency or immigration deadline.
17. No ads
Travllr does not display third-party advertising. Your travel history, location information, documents and account information are not used to select advertisements.
18. No sale of personal information
Travllr does not sell personal information. This includes your travel history, location information, account information, visa information, passport information and information relating to your movements. Travllr does not provide personal information to data brokers.
19. No behavioural or cross-service tracking
Travllr does not track you across unrelated companies’ apps or websites for behavioural advertising. Travllr does not create cross-service advertising profiles and does not share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising.
Operational processing that is necessary to authenticate an account, provide location-based travel features, maintain security, diagnose errors or operate Firebase infrastructure is not used as advertising tracking.
20. Service providers
Travllr may rely on service providers to perform limited technical functions necessary to operate the Service. Google Firebase is one such provider. A service provider may process information to the extent necessary to provide the relevant technical service and subject to applicable contractual and legal obligations.
Travllr does not provide service providers with your personal information for their independent behavioural advertising.
21. Cloudflare Turnstile
Travllr uses Cloudflare Turnstile on its support form to help distinguish legitimate visitors from automated abuse and spam. Turnstile may process technical signals that are necessary to provide this security function, such as network and browser-related signals.
Travllr uses Turnstile for security purposes only. It is not used for advertising or behavioural profiling, and Cloudflare states that Turnstile does not access, store or transmit the content you enter into Travllr’s support form as part of the challenge process.
Travllr currently uses Turnstile in invisible mode. For more information about Cloudflare’s handling of Turnstile data, see the Cloudflare Turnstile Privacy Addendum.
22. Apple, Google and platform providers
Apple, Google and other platform providers may independently receive information associated with downloading Travllr, application updates, authentication, device services, operating-system functionality, marketplace activity or device backups. Their independent processing is governed by their own privacy policies and terms.
23. When information may be disclosed
Travllr may disclose information where reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law, respond to legally valid process, protect the security or integrity of the Service, investigate fraud or abuse, protect a person’s rights or safety, or establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
Where legally permitted and reasonably practicable, we will seek to limit a disclosure to the information necessary for the relevant request.
24. Business transfer
If Travllr is reorganised, transferred, sold or acquired, information associated with the Service may form part of that transaction, subject to applicable privacy law. Device-only Visa Vault and travel-document data that Travllr does not possess cannot be transferred by Travllr as part of such a transaction.
25. Legal grounds for processing
Where applicable law requires a legal basis for processing, Travllr may rely on one or more of the following:
- Providing the Service: processing necessary to provide the Travllr features you request.
- Consent or device permission: for features such as location, notifications, camera or access to selected photos/files where consent or permission is required.
- Legitimate operational interests: where permitted, for security, abuse prevention, support, diagnostics and reliability.
- Legal obligations: where processing or retention is required by applicable law.
26. Data retention
Travllr seeks to keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it is processed, subject to applicable legal and security requirements.
- Account information: generally retained while your Travllr account is active and for any limited period reasonably necessary after deletion for security, legal or operational requirements.
- Backend travel information: may remain associated with your account until you delete it, delete your account, or request deletion, subject to necessary backup and legal-retention periods.
- Visa Vault and travel-document images: stored locally on your device and remain there until you remove them, delete relevant application data, or your operating system removes the local data.
- Support communications: may be retained for a reasonable period to resolve issues, maintain support history, prevent abuse or comply with law.
- Security and diagnostic data: retained only for a period reasonably necessary for operations, reliability and security.
27. Account and data deletion
Where account-deletion functionality is available, you may use it to request deletion of your Travllr account. You may also submit a request through Travllr Support.
Following a valid deletion request, Travllr will delete or de-identify personal information associated with the account where reasonably possible, subject to applicable legal obligations, fraud-prevention and security requirements, and technically necessary backup cycles.
Deleting your backend account may not automatically remove information stored only on your device. You may also need to delete local information within Travllr, clear application data where supported, or uninstall the application.
28. Security
Travllr uses reasonable administrative, technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, misuse, loss and destruction. These may include authentication, access controls, secure infrastructure and encryption provided by applicable platforms and services.
No mobile application, internet transmission or electronic-storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You are responsible for maintaining appropriate security on your own device and account.
29. International processing
Travllr is operated from India and uses technical infrastructure, including Firebase, that may process information in other countries depending on service configuration and availability. Where applicable law requires safeguards for international processing or transfers, Travllr will use legally recognised mechanisms or service-provider arrangements as required.
30. Your privacy rights
Depending on the law that applies to you, you may have rights relating to your personal information, which can include rights to access, correct or update information, request deletion, withdraw consent, object to or restrict certain processing, obtain certain information in a portable form, and raise a grievance or complaint with an appropriate authority.
These rights are subject to applicable law and may have exceptions. Travllr may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request.
31. Users in India
Travllr is operated from India. Personal data will be handled in accordance with applicable Indian data-protection law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Rules, 2025 to the extent their relevant provisions are in force and applicable to Travllr.
Where applicable, users may request access to information about processing, correction or completion of personal data, erasure, grievance redressal and other rights provided under applicable Indian law by contacting Travllr Support.
32. Users in the EEA, United Kingdom and other jurisdictions
If privacy laws in your jurisdiction provide additional rights, Travllr will honour those rights to the extent they apply. This may include rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection and withdrawal of consent. You may also have the right to complain to a competent data-protection authority.
33. Children and minors
Travllr is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children who are not legally able to consent to use of the Service. Where applicable law requires consent from a parent or legal guardian, Travllr should be used by a minor only with that consent and supervision.
If we become aware that personal information has been collected from a child in circumstances where legally required consent was not provided, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
34. Automated calculations
Travllr may automatically calculate travel days, residency-related counters, Schengen periods, thresholds, timelines and similar information. These calculations are intended to organise and present travel information. They are not used to make advertising decisions about you and do not constitute legal, immigration, tax or governmental decisions.
35. App Store and Google Play disclosures
Apple, Google and other application marketplaces may require standardised privacy disclosures describing categories of data handled by an application. Travllr seeks to keep those disclosures consistent with its actual practices. Marketplace privacy labels are summaries and should be read together with this Privacy Policy.
36. External links
Travllr may link to third-party websites or services. This Privacy Policy does not govern information independently collected by government authorities, airlines, booking providers, Apple, Google or other third parties. You should review the privacy practices of a third-party service before providing information to it.
37. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to Travllr, technology, service providers, legal requirements or our data practices. The “Last Updated” date at the top identifies the latest revision.
Where required by law, or where a change materially affects your privacy rights, we will provide appropriate additional notice. We will not begin selling personal information or introducing behavioural advertising tracking merely by silently changing this Privacy Policy.
